Bub is big. At the end of the summer, I was squeezing him into his 2T rompers. At 18mos, he was 35″ and 35lbs. and into a size 3. For our most recent trip to Cuba (details on that coming soon!), I realized about 2 weeks before we were to leave that we had NO warm weather clothes for him. None.
I hadn’t given myself enough time to utilize Craigslist or Kijiji (plus, I have the worst luck with those venues), but an online appeal netted a few hand-me-downs from friends. I was resigning myself to scouring local secondhand shops (where I usually buy most of his clothes, to be honest, but not a whole wardrobe at once), when the lovely Grace from TykeThreads came to the rescue.
Shopping online is another great idea for finding off-season clothes that are usually on sale, but sizes can sometimes be limited. Luckily for me, Grace just lives a few blocks away, so she was able to drop by and show me some of her gear. TykeThreads has really cool clothes for baby, toddler, and preschooler boys, and Grace was gracious enough to give me a sweet deal on a few pieces.
Bub was the best-dressed member of our family on our vacation. We’re heading down South again in January (yay!) so he’ll be wearing his TykeThreads duds there, and I’m hoping I can still squeeze him into them next summer!
