Corinne McDermott wanted to take a family vacation before her first maternity leave was over.  Frustrated by the scattered information on destinations, packing, flying tips, and family-specific hotel reviews, she decided to create a one-stop web brochure for busy parents with questions on traveling with baby.  Her supportive husband taught himself the basics, and Have Baby Will Travel was launched from their basement in the Spring of 2007.

A veteran TV producer with almost 2 decades of experience, Corinne decided at the end of 2008 to make Have Baby Will Travel her full-time gig.  Pre-baby, travel was her passion, and now she’s thrilled to combine her two greatest loves (family & travel) full-time.  She has appeared on CBC’s Steven & Chris to discuss traveling with tots, and demonstrated the latest baby travel gear on CityTV’s Breakfast Television.  Corinne contributes family travel articles to Yummy Mummy, Wee Welcome, Kidding Around Canada, Parent Source, York Region Parent, HRM Parent, Canadian Babies, Urban Mommies, Life With Kids, Parent Link, and is a featured blogger for Mamapedia. Corinne’s writing has appeared in Canadian Family magazine, and she’s been quoted in Today’s Parent, as well as in a Canadian Press story on traveling with children that was picked up by newspapers across the country.  Mompreneur magazine featured Corinne in their May/June issue.

A native of Toronto, she lives in the city with her husband, 3-year-old daughter, and is trying to get some work done while caring for their newborn son.

The first few months of motherhood were challenging, and I felt proud if I made it out of the house, never mind out of the country. But as my daughter became more settled, my confidence grew – and so did my desire to travel again.

A lot of people thought we were nuts for taking the baby on vacation, but it was such a wonderful experience that I wanted to make it easier for other families as well. I hope you find this website useful in making your travel plans, and please send us your trip report when you get back!
