While I’m still sorting through my notes and memories, I feel I would be remiss if I did not post some of the great photos we (my husband) took during our 5 wonderful days in Quebec City. At 10.5 weeks, it was our son’s first trip and our 3.5yr-old daughter’s 6th. (Many many apologies for missing accents – not sure how to do them in WordPress!)
I was a little concerned about how we’d navigate the narrow streets and cobblestones while pushing a stroller. Aside from a few steep (energizing!) hills, we got along great!
We stayed at the Delta, which was a decent, centrally located hotel that served us well as a home base. It was just a 5min walk to Grand Allee, which is chock full of restaurants and an easy walk down to Rue St. Louis and Vieux Quebec.
The weather was the one thing that wasn’t so great about our trip, but every day it cleared up enough for us to be out and about! A highlight for our entire family was the horse & carriage ride.
For our first getaway as a family of four, I think our trip was a rousing success. Even with the weather not cooperating, it was great fun just hanging out in the hotel room, eating snacks and watching silly TV. Did you know that Winnie The Pooh can speak French?! Tres bon!
it’s great to take pictures of all this, because the only way to remember is to look thru them over and over again:)
You’re right Marina!
Too bad that there’s still less photos of him than of his sister at the same age – the reason being now the photographer is supervising the preschooler instead of constantly snapping!
Congratulations to you on venturing to Quebec! These photos are not only lovely, they are inspiring to families who are in newborn-land and who may be thinking about travel. We were also just in Canada (Nova Scotia)…but I have been eyeballing Quebec for the restaurants. Great to find you blog!
Thanks Lorraine! I was surprised to discover this time around that the newborn was far easier to travel with than the preschooler!
We loved the old streets of Quebec City and all of the little eateries tucked along them. We were last there July 1 (Canada Day) a couple of years ago, so there were tons of people and buskers of every imaginable grade of, um, talent.
I’d love to go back in the winter for the carnival and Ice Hotel!
Meanwhile, what a great first trip for Riley. He looks pretty relaxed 😆
TOO Cute. that hotel bed one is just precious. glad he likes to sleep!
We definitely lucked out in the sleep department – Baby Riley is totally chill!
Quebec city is a wonderful city to visit! it’s family firendly and has al lot of attractions and activities for families! you kids will not be bored here, they will have fun for sure!
