I’ve never stayed in a Marriott hotel (yet) but when they emailed me to tell me about their new “Tots Travel Too” initiative, I was pretty happy to hear from them. As we all know, traveling with a baby comes with a lot of luggage, and our list of what to pack is pretty long. If the place we’re staying at wants to tout themselves a baby friendly hotel, who are we to argue?
The “Tots Travel Too” program is implemented at more than 2500 Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, and TownePlace Suites hotels in the United States and Canada. Marriott will supply families traveling with an infant or toddler with a package that includes a travel crib, laundered COVERPLAY® removable slipcover, an animal squirtie tub toy (yours to keep), plus complimentary baby toiletry items. In addition, disposable bibs will be available in the dining areas and the hotels will supply (free of charge) outlet covers and nightlights to help baby-proof your room.
On our very first trip when our daughter was a baby, our hotel-supplied crib was unsafe and unsuitable, and had to shore it up ourselves. Because of this, we’ve always lugged along our playpen. It’s nice to know that Marriott has taken it upon themselves to make life a little easier for traveling parents, and a little more comfortable for traveling tots.
Marriott Hotels sent me a package that includes a COVERPLAY® slipcover, a playpen sheet, a squirtie toy, baby toiletries, a handful of outlet covers and an adorable baby t shirt. Usually I would make this package a giveaway, but I thought it would be very useful for one of the many (unfortunately) women’s shelters in my city. When I mentioned to Marriott that I would like to donate my package instead of giving it away to one of my readers, without hesitation they sent me a bunch more to donate.
Thanks to Marriott, the load can be a little lighter for traveling parents, and the tots sleeping at Nellie’s women’s shelter in Toronto have a little softer place to sleep.
