With so much to do, you can create your personal blend of relaxed days, adventurous excursions, educational activities and kid-crazy fun. Here are some ideas that will help you tailor a family vacation, like no other you have ever had.
While you lounge on sun-kissed shores, your kids will have hours of fun building fairytale sandcastles, searching for iridescent seashells and frolicking in the warm Caribbean waters. Parasailing, snorkelling, volleyball games or boat rides, together too, there’s lots to do.
Share the energizing experience of a bicycle tour with your young ones. Your kids are sure to take the lead as you pedal along picturesque coastal roads and cruise down gentle mountain slopes.
Hold hands as your family joins other families in an exciting climb up the world famous Dunn’s River Falls. Along the way, enjoy natural waterslides, mini-pools and the invigorating feel of massaging waters. At the end this challenging course, you’re bound to be a little closer.
You hook it, they’ll cook it…your kids will love the thrill of the catch at one of our scenic fishing parks. After you’ve all caught your fill, enjoy a scrumptious family picnic in a charming rural setting.
Trek across the island’s rugged interior. Discover secluded river pools and hidden caves. Learn about and meet delightful tropical birds and plants. At night be lulled to sleep by a symphony of crickets, frogs and nocturnal birds.
Saddle up and enjoy Jamaica from a new perspective. Mountain trails and beach rides will come alive for adults and children alike as your new four-legged friend graciously shares his familiar terrain.
On a magical tour of Montego Bay’s Marine Park, a tropical underwater world becomes your classroom for the day. Brilliantly coloured sea fans, brain corals, sergeant major fishes, and sting rays, will fascinate your kids while an informed guide teaches them about these marine gems!
From Crocodiles to Ostriches, Jamaica has a few unexpected residents who will add adventure to your experience. Your wild bunch will definitely enjoy seeing these creatures in their natural habitat… Geared toward inquisitive youngsters, your kids will adore this interactive museum exhibit. Children are encouraged to touch the displays, ask as many questions as they like, and even take part in a few experiments!
There are so many options for accommodations on Jamaica. Traditional beachfront resorts abound, and some offer vacation nannies! Or you can opt for a villa vacation with your significant ones. Villa staff will cater to your little tyke’s needs while you relax. At your own private pool, the kids can splash and shout all they want, after all this secluded tropical paradise is their home away from home.

Hi there,
I’m planning on visiting Jamaica soon, Ocho Rios to be precise!
Me and my family are going to a Beaches resort.. http://www.beaches.com,
Just wondering if you went anywhere near Ocho Rios? We want to embrace the culture as much as possible as well as relax on the beaches, what was the most amazing thing you saw when you were out there?
Thanks!
Hi Dan!
The furthest in that direction I went was Runaway Bay, but if you go out and about be sure to try Scotchies – it was awesome jerk and my daughter loved the fish. Beaches are FAB resorts! Stayed at Beaches Negril this past December and it was absolutely wonderful.
My wife and my child are going to visit Mexico in the near future.
Thanks for the helpful article, got an important lesson.
